About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Plant Manager to lead our operations at the Ukufisa Colliery site. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient plant performance while upholding the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily plant operations to meet production and quality targets. Lead and mentor plant staff, providing effective training and fostering strong team performance. Manage maintenance activities and ensure all equipment is safe and operational. Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies in accordance with mining regulations. Control budgets and manage costs to drive financial efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Matric (Grade 12) certificate. A degree or BTech in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering, Extraction Metallurgy, or a similar field (a postgraduate qualification is advantageous). A valid driver's license. Coal Preparation Certificate. At least 5 years of managerial experience in a plant environment. Hands-on experience with coal washing processes (e.g., dense medium separation, flotation, screening, and crushing) and familiarity with process control systems (e.g., SCADA, PLC). Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and manage diverse teams. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, particularly under pressure. Thorough understanding of mining and occupational health and safety legislation (e.g., MHSA) and environmental regulations. Financial acumen to manage budgets and control costs effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, suppliers, clients, and stakeholders.
