POSITION INFO:
The Plant Manager will be responsible for the North West operations, maximizing plant throughput at optimal yields and world-class quality standards while achieving and maintaining budgetary cost targets.
This position reports to the Production Manager: Commercial Division
The ideal candidate must possess an , Food Processing, Production, or relevant NQF level 7 qualification and 15 years of experience within the sector. Poultry Processing experience and a track record in handling labour-intensive workplaces are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Developing, defining and implementing good manufacturing practices
- Responsible for achieving processing plant targets in line with strategic objectives
- Developing team and managing talent within the abattoir
- Optimizing product distribution in the processing plant
- Control operational budget for the abattoir and ensure that cost controls are adhered to
- Manage Industrial Relations
- Drive a high food safety culture (FSSC 22000 accreditation)
- Ensure implementation of effective and efficient occupational health, safety and environmental management system (NOSA 5-star accreditation)
- Engineering, Food Processing, Production or relevant tertiary qualification
- Strong Leadership skills
- High degree of computer literacy
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people
- Good Project Management skills
