Job Description

A leading manufacturing company in the glass production sector is seeking a highly skilled Plant Manager to join their Rustenburg team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a results-driven individual with a strong background in plant operations, production planning, and people management within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of logistics, financial controls, and compliance with relevant legislation, and will thrive on driving efficiency, ensuring safety, and leading large teams to operational excellence.
Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day plant operations including production, logistics, and maintenance.
• Plan daily staffing and vehicle scheduling requirements.
• Coordinate plant and vehicle maintenance.
• Manage stock levels of consumables (e.g. diesel, oil, stationery).
• Monitor and ensure timely stock takes (daily, weekly, month-end).

• Organise and facilitate necessary meetings and training (e.g. health and safety).
• Ensure compliance with statutory checks and renewals.
• Support recruitment processes and handle IR (Industrial Relations) matters.
• Ensure all staff are present and performing in line with operational targets.

Requirements

• Matric.
• Degree or Diploma in Management or related field.
• Valid Code 8 Driver's Licence.
• 3 to 5 years' experience in a plant or operations management role.
• Proven ability to lead large teams effectively.
• Working knowledge of EE, OSH, SHE, and BCE legislation.
• Strong understanding of logistics, finance, and production processes.
• Experience in recruitment and managing IR matters.
