Introduction:Plant Manager - Manufacturing Sector (Germiston & Midrand)We're working with a JSE listed manufacturing company, on their search for a hands-on, operationally minded Plant Manager to oversee two key sites: one in Germiston and one in Midrand.This is a fantastic opportunity for a people-focused leader with a strong grasp of logistics, production, and plant operations-someone who thrives on structure, systems, and getting the most out of their team.Why this opportunity stands out:

• A Degree or Diploma in Management (or similar)
• At least 3 years' experience in a leadership role-ideally in manufacturing, recycling, or waste management
• Sound understanding of EE, OSH, SHE and BCE legislation
• Strong financial, production and logistics acumen
• A valid Code 8 driver's licence
• Hands-on experience with IR, recruitment, and staff management
• Confidence managing large teams and a high-volume operational environment

The role in a nutshell:

• Oversee operations at both sites, ensuring optimal production, logistics, and maintenance schedules
• Manage and motivate plant staff, set daily goals, and ensure KPIs are met
• Lead and support safety initiatives, training, and audits
• Collaborate closely with the workshop and boiler shop to ensure efficient cost control
• Keep environmental reporting compliant with local regulations and bylaws
• Step in where needed-including on a forklift if the situation calls for it
• Monitor and improve systems, processes, and plant performance across shifts
• Be the go-to person for problem-solving, team issues, and operational decisions
