Our client in the manufacturing industry based in Port Elizabeth is currently looking to employ a Plant Maintenance Technician.

Requirements:

  • Trade Test certificate: Millwright.
  • At least 18 months Mechanical/ Electrical/ Mechatronics Engineering qualification or PLC; SCADA and Batch Management Softwarexe2x80x99s certification training program.
  • SAP-EAM and Project Management training certificates.
  • 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience as a Millwright/ Technician maintenance or project environment (preferably in the manufacturing Chemical Industry).
  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Wiremanxe2x80x99s license.
  • Experience using SAP-EAM (advantageous).
  • Projects Environment experience. (advantageous).
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and equipment.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance, repairs, inspections (assessing the functionality of production equipment and operational problems).
  • Communicating effectively with the production team, communicate pertinent information to the next shift and maintaining a clean work area.
  • Perform and complete maintenance work order request.
  • Give detailed feedback of work orders, spare parts consumed, and time spent on specific work orders in SAP-EAM daily.
  • Performs daily plant critical checks and records results in Inspection Lots in SAP-EAM.
  • Fabricate items required during maintenance or set-up of equipment.
  • Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Respond to after hour call-out when required.
  • Control of spare parts used.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment (Production plant, equipment and workshop) and corporate directives for the safe performance of the work assignment.
  • Provides support for a variety of projects by assisting with site preparation, on-site clean up and evaluation.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Computer literacy with working knowledge on Microsoft packages and SAP is essential.
  • Basic report writing skills are essential.
  • In-depth knowledge instrumentation and able to do calibrations and verifications.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance.
  • Ability to interpret PLC software and fault find in PLC software
  • Ability to interpret SCADA and Batch Management software and use as a fault-finding tool.
  • Ability to diagnose, determine cause and effect, and repair equipment malfunctions.
  • Shows an open attitude towards change and willing to adapt to changing priorities, process conditions and circumstances.
  • Ability to read and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and Specifications.
  • Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the department and the company.
  • Works in a goal result and customer xe2x80x93 orientated manner. Considers economic aspects (quality, quantity, time, costs)
  • Metal and plastic fabrication, welding, and piping.
  • Complies with established job safety practices, policies and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for the safe performance of the work assignment.
  • Availability to work during non-scheduled hours when necessary.
  • Own reliable transport and ability to do standby on a roster basis is essential.
