POSITION INFO:
We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Engineer to join a leading beverage manufacturing company. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily engineering operations, implementing maintenance strategies, and ensuring optimal plant performance. This role requires a strong technical background, project management expertise, and a commitment to regulatory compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Mechatronic Engineering
- CMRP, PMP, or
, beverage, or food manufacturing * Proficiency in compressed air systems, boilers, refrigeration (CO?/Ammonia), and utility equipment
- Familiarity with SABS standards (e.g., SANS 10142) and ASME codes
- Implement and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance frameworks to maximize equipment uptime and reliability
- Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and enhance operational efficiency
- Manage utility systems (steam, compressed air,
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and food-grade standards (e.g., GMP, HACCP, ISO, OSH Act)
- Utilize CMMS systems and maintenance KPIs (OEE, MTBF, MTTR) to drive data-driven decision-making
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and asset registers, supporting traceability and audit readiness
