Job Summary:
The Plant Engineer is responsible for maintaining and optimizing all plant equipment and systems to ensure efficient and reliable operations. This role plays a key part in improving manufacturing processes, reducing downtime, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate should have experience in SAP, particularly in maintenance and materials management, to streamline plant operations effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintenance & Reliability Management

  • Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and enhance equipment performance.
  • Use SAP PM (Plant Maintenance) to track equipment history, maintenance schedules, and work orders.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Driving Preventative Maintenance Agenda.
2. Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement
  • Analyse plant operations to identify and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Optimize asset utilization and energy consumption to reduce operational costs.
  • Installation and commissioning of low cost Kaizen initiatives and Capex.
  • Capex and Opex budget plans
  • Utilize SAP reports and data analytics to support decision-making.
3. Safety, Compliance & Environmental Regulations
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
  • Implement corrective measures based on audit findings and regulatory changes.
4. Project & Vendor Management
  • Lead engineering projects, including new equipment installation, modifications, and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with vendors and contractors, managing procurement through SAP MM (Materials Management) for spare parts and equipment.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.
5. Team Leadership & Training
  • Supervise and mentor maintenance technicians, ensuring continuous skills development.
  • Train staff on best practices in maintenance and SAP usage for maintenance tracking.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in plant engineering within an FMCG manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in SAP PM and MM (Plant Maintenance & Materials Management) is required.
  • Experience in preventive maintenance strategies, root cause analysis, and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance).
  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and quality standards (ISO, HACCP, etc.).
  • Project management experience in plant operations and equipment installations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of automation systems, PLCs, and SCADA.
  • Familiarity with energy-saving initiatives and sustainability practices in FMCG.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Working Conditions:
  • Factory-based role, requiring hands-on involvement in plant operations.
  • May require occasional travel to other facilities or vendor sites.
  • Availability for on-call support during critical breakdowns or emergencies.
