Plant Attendant Purpose of Role The Process Attendant carries out the accountability and responsibility for the safe achievement of cleaning equipment and housekeeping in his/her section. The incumbent will execute physical operational work in his/her section. The position mainly takes on manual labour duties in order to operate his/her section and maintain a clean and safe working environment NB: Please note this is a fixed term contract position Role Context

• Process equipment cleaning and housekeeping in the section
• Basic problem solving
• Adhere to all safety
• Discuss with the Process Operator when technical assistance is required with regard to the cleaning of equipment and the section
• Execution of process equipment cleaning duties in the section to ensure equipment is operated efficiently
• Do housekeeping in the section
• Adhere to safety rules and instructions
• Form part of conducive employee relations climate in the section
• Understand and form part of administrative functions (Risk assessments, inspection sheets)
• Comply to safety rules, policies and procedures
• Assist with process equipment maintenance
• Assist engineering department with their maintenance duties
• Communicate failures/breakdowns and deviations in process or equipment to the Supervisor
• Assist support services during breakdowns in order to limit downtime while ensuring adherence to safety standards
• Form part of equipment inspections and section inspections at the start of every shift
• Contribute in pre-shift safety and work discussions

Minimum Requirements Qualifications:

• Grade 12 (Passed Math or Science) or equivalent

Job specific experience:

• Mineral Processing Skills (i.e. Crushing, Milling, Spirals, Flotation and Tailings)
