Plant Accountant Finance

Key Responsibilities:

• Management Accounting & Cost Control

• Oversee and refine costing systems, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
• Monitor production costs, labour, waste, and key operational spend to identify savings opportunities.
• Variance Analysis

• Analyse actual vs budgeted costs and highlight financial performance impacts.
• Develop strategies to minimise variances and drive cost efficiency.
• Manufacturing KPIs & Performance

• Design and track manufacturing KPIs to measure success.
• Benchmark performance against industry standards and recommend improvements.
• Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare and present reports on manufacturing results and performance.
• Deliver insights that shape decision-making and strategic planning.
• Corrective Action & Improvement

• Highlight problem areas and develop action plans for better outcomes.
• Continuously drive process improvements for accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
• Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor finance team members to ensure high performance and professional growth.
• Oversee day-to-day team operations and development.
• Strategic Planning Support

• Partner with management to align financial strategies with business objectives.
• Provide sound recommendations for profitability and growth initiatives.

Key Requirements:

• CIMA or CA(SA) qualification.
• 5+ years in finance, preferably within manufacturing and ideally in a JSE-listed environment.
• Strong costing and management accounting expertise
• Advanced MS Excel skills and ERP experience (Syspro a plus)
• Knowledge of business processes, governance, and risk management
