An exciting opportunity is available at Bilionetworks, an ICT company, operating in the fibre, LAN cabling and alternative energy space, situated in Parklands, Tableview for a Planning and Production Manager. Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• No criminal record.
• Sober habits and good time keeping.
• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or Project Management.
• Relevant experience in OSP (Outside Plant) Construction/Maintenance within the telecommunication industry and familiarity of the telecommunications environment and operation.
• Working experience with sub-contract management.
• Excellent communication skills and can establish and maintain a good relationship with clients.
• Fundamental knowledge of reading and interpreting design plans, drawings and Wayleaves permitting information.
• Demonstrate a high level of knowledge on systems/equipment deployed in OSP.
• Excellent interpersonal, coaching, managerial, leadership skills, and take accountability for the work of assigned personnel.
• Must maintain site security, cleanliness, have strong PC skills and be well versed in MS Office.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Flexibility to work outside of regular office hours and be available for standby duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluations and distributing of the workload in support of all OSP sites and is accountable for all results.
• Implement and monitor reporting methods for multiple contractors and vendors.
• Works closely with the Health and Safety team to implement safety policies.
• Field management of Outside Plant (OSP) construction projects to verify adherence to specifications and Wayleavexe2x80x99s stipulations.
• Manage the Outside Plant (OSP) construction teams/Contractor and fulfill the SLA and KPI.
• Daily coordination, support, and escalation, as necessary, with the Contractor, Project Owner/ILO and OSP admin staff to resolve daily challenges and implement Project changes in scope.
• Must be able to support the procedures for On-call 24x7, stand-by and overtime are required as dictated by the business.
• Daily coordination with representatives of community authorities / forums / City of Cape Town
• Participate in researching, planning, and implementing major initiatives of the division.
• Responsible for the outside plant sites in each geographic boundary, including metro and long-haul fibers. Performs a wide spectrum of complex assignments requiring alternative analysis, innovation, and judgment.
• Assumes responsibility for contribution to the success of major projects and is called upon to make decisions.
• Preparation of "as-built" records drawings.
• Ensures all policies and approved methods are followed and used uniformly by all contractors.
• Prepares and reviews various documents including invoicing, progress reports but not limited to other reports as needed.
• Promotes and ensures health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
• Monitor projects closely to ensure on time delivery, within budget.
