Position Overview




The PE Teaching Partner collaborates with Physical Education teachers to support and enhance physical, social, and emotional development through movement and sport. This role is crucial in managing equipment, setting up dynamic learning environments, and ensuring a safe space for all physical activities.The Teaching Partner will also fill in from time to time for Physical Education teachers who are absent. The Teaching Partner should be familiar with and model AISJ's vision and purpose.


The ideal candidate should be comfortable with physically active work, including lifting and moving sports equipment, participating in demonstrations, and supervising students in various sports and fitness activities.


Qualifications




Previous experience working with children Excellent level of spoken and written English Strong communication and interpersonal skills Experience operating in collaborative learning environments Growth mindset and willingness to learn Knowledge of basic first aid and emergency procedures related to physical activity. Ability to lead and supervise large groups of students in outdoor and indoor athletic settings.

Preferred Skills and Experience




Education degree/diploma or working towards Teacher certification or working towards Experience working in schools and educational environments Experience with technology software Sport Coaching Background Experience with athletic equipment setup and maintenance. Ability to demonstrate and model proper form for a variety of sports skills and exercises. A passion for physical activity and a commitment to promoting a healthy, active lifestyle. Experience and ability in an aquatic environment

General Teaching Partner Responsibilities




Assist with the setup and breakdown of physical education and sports equipment for daily lessons and special events. Maintain an inventory of PE equipment and report any damage or need for replacement. Supervises learners in various PE spaces, including the gym, sports fields, and fitness rooms. Establishes trusting relationships with learners. Provide substitute coverage and be prepared to lead a class lesson as needed. Participates in curriculum and educator development opportunities as required. Maintains a high level of professional competence through in-service education and professional growth activities. Promote positive sportsmanship and teamwork among students. Fill in for Physical Education teachers who are absent Other tasks as determined by the Principal.

Work Hours:
