ROLE SUMMARY:



Reddford House Blue Hills is a premium private school situated in Blue Hills, Kyalami, Midrand.
Reddford House Blue Hills offers a balanced, holistic, innovative, vibrant 21st century learning experience, through our IEB curriculum. Offered a wide selection of academic, performing and creative arts and sports - our students are encouraged to discover their unique gifts, talents and abilities - becoming well rounded, lifelong learners.


We require an enthusiastic and capable Physical Science Teacher who will be able to provide strong intellectual leadership and managerial coordination of the school whilst respecting the integrity of the disciplines, consolidate a sense of common purpose and to promote an interdisciplinary ethos across the School as deemed appropriate.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan, prepare and present interesting and exciting lessons.
• Establish a teaching environment that is nurturing, and which promotes engaged learning.
• Behave in a professional manner with regards to punctuality, behaviour, standards of work and studentsxe2x80x99 homework.
• Evaluate, reflect on and refine teaching practice.
• Be open to continuously develop ones teaching through personal and school wide professional development.
• Teach extra lessons, when required, on two afternoons per week.
• Produce resources of a high standard for students.
• Respond to e-mails and telephone messages from parents within 24 hours.
• Show loyalty to all facets of Reddford House.
• Attend all special occasions at the discretion of the relevant Head.
• Set and mark exams and all other forms of student evaluation.
• Write report comments.
• The post holder is required to undertake any other reasonable tasks that the School Head/line manager determine.

• A minimum of 3 yearsxe2x80x99 teaching experience.
• Confidence with use of ICT in teaching.
• Previous experience with IEB/CAPS programs.
• Previous experience in a high-performing international school.
• University degree in appropriate subject.
• Certified Teaching Status and SACE certificate.
• Appropriate right to work.
