An opportunity exists for an experienced PHP Developer to join an established Group of companies. We require a PHP Developer who will be available to work on an ad-hoc basis over a period of 5 years. The conclusion of the employment contract is subject to a probatory period of 3 months during which the candidate's performance and efficiency will be evaluated.
Please note that this is an EE/AA position.Summary:
We require a PHP Developer who will be responsible for the maintenance, hosting and management of our groups' and its divisions' websites.
A total of 12 business division websites need to be maintained.
Each website must be updated by its own dedicated administrator
All administrators are managed by a single main administrator at our Corporate office:
Maintain and upgrade our group and divisions' websites and web security featuresMake the websites responsive and accessible on all types of devices including Notebooks, PCs, tablets and smart phones Provide a preview button prior to uploading new material on websitesMigrate to new service provider for the hosting if need beProvide a web environment on Content Management System (CMS) to administer a login panel for personnel to access and effect changes before publishing to a live environmentThe CMS must provide a secure layer on the application and servers upon which it is stored and provide protection against all known attacks and penetration vulnerabilitiesWebsites must be SEO Compliant and have Google Analytics including Google AdWords and must include Meta information on all web pages createdDesign and development on a framework that provides full-featured web applicationsThe candidate should be able to ensure that each administrator can perform the following functions:
Create, edit or delete pagesability to organise page hierarchies in a user-friendly mannerability to save any changes made to a page and PREVIEW the page before publishing. The page should only go live once published. Page must also have unpublishing function to remove page from the live site at a later stage (if need be) once an administrator requires the page to go liveadministrators should have videos that educate them on how to perform a specific function. ALL functions must have videos that can be published on Vimeo and privatised but also included on control panel for administrators to watch as required System to force administrators to update passwords every 6 months. All passwords must have minimum combination of alphabets, numbers and special characters and must show password length as wellAbility for dynamic upload of images in body content areasSome functionalities desired on the Control Panel:
Page builder with side menu options if required (in cases where there is more than one page in a menu item)Home page slider bannerNews & press system — including ability to include Youtube videosPhoto and video gallery (Youtube for video gallery)Mini photo galleries — can be included on any page with thumbnail and enlarged viewingDownloads and LinksPage dedicated to uploading up to 10 documentsFinancials and investor relations — upload of Annual Financial Statements into single page.Career opportunities — post careers available within the group of companies, (or a Careers button linking to an external portal)Contact us page with own online form, Google ReCaptcha/Anti-spam and ability to add up to 2 additional contacts (Product Enquiries, Supply Chain, Careers) — each of the latter to allow inclusion of telephone number, name and emailGoogle maps to be included for each divisionEvents calendarSearch facilityArea on control panel including Google Analytics code for each websiteRequired knowledge and experience:
Minimum 4 years' experience in software development using PHP are required
Relevant tertiary education
Experience with frameworks like Laravel or Lumen are advantageous
Experience Java or C# are advantageous
Experience working with relational databases requiredPlease note that due to security reasons, we will not permit the use of the following:
