Job Description


: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our pharmacy team as a Pharmacy Administrative Assistant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the pharmacy. This role involves handling various clerical tasks, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with administrative duties to uphold the highest standards of customer service and compliance with regulatory requirements.Key Responsibilities: * Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, inventory, and patient information using electronic systems and paper files as necessary.

  • Inventory Management: Assist with inventory control processes, including ordering and restocking pharmaceutical supplies, monitoring expiration dates, and managing medication returns.
  • Billing and Insurance: Process insurance claims, verify patient insurance coverage, and assist with billing procedures to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement.
  • Customer Service: Provide friendly and professional customer service by answering phones, responding to inquiries, and assisting patients with prescription pickups and inquiries.
  • Data Entry: Enter prescription orders, patient information, and other data into pharmacy management software with precision and attention to detail.
  • Debt Collecting: Calling customers with outstanding accounts and ensuring payment is arranged or a payment plan is implemented.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all pharmacy regulations and policies to ensure sensitive information remains private and is not misplaced.
  • Support Pharmacists and Technicians: Collaborate with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to handle administrative tasks, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Administrative Assistance: Assist with general administrative tasks such as filing paperwork, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Matric or equivalent required; additional education or certification in pharmacy technology or administration advantageous.
  • Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably in a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with pharmacy management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
