Job Description
Job Summary Retail Pharmacist - To provide excellent Pharmaceutical care, by accurately providing patients with efficient pharmaceutical advice within the scope of practice outlined by the South African Pharmacy Council. (SAPC) - Dispense medications accurately and provide counselling to patients on proper medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions. - Ensure safe and accurate dispensing by using the 3 Phase dispensing process outlined in the Good Pharmacy practice (GPP). - Order, control and maintain stock of pharmaceutical medication and supplies. - Encourage patients on generic substitution. - Ensure all pharmaceuticals, including vaccines are properly received, packed, distributed, prepared and stored. - To build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers. - To assist the Nurse or Responsible Pharmacist on duty with clinic services, where possible. - Oversee the work done by pharmacist assistants. - Encourage and support all dispensary and front shop members and work as a team. - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care, reviewing medication regimens, and making appropriate recommendations. - Assist with admin and marketing functions. - Assist with stock take.
