About the roleThis 1-year learnership/internship program with Haleon Cape Town. Haleon aims to provide the Pharmacist Intern with an opportunity to gain workplace experience, knowledge and skills related to Pharmaceutical Industry. The Pharmacist Intern will insight into the operation of all departments with the intention of inheriting experience and knowledge to fulfil the Pharmacist role in future. This job has area/shift responsibility for assisting the Pharmacist Assistants and Pharmacists (under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist) with compliance oversight and regulatory related activities. The Pharmacist Intern assists with ensuring that products are manufactured and packed to the required quality and compliance standards accordance with statutory requirements and duties and ensures compliance within the Value Stream. The Pharmacist intern reports directly into the Production Pharmacist in the Value Stream and is accountable to their registered tutor. Ensures that applicable Standard Operating Procedures are followed, monitors adherence to rules, regulations and procedures and help team to achieve business goals. Support the Team in application of GPS basis to promote a culture of continuous process and quality improvement. Work extended shift during the week and on weekend when operationally required and requested.

Key responsibilitiesEnsures products are manufactured to the required quality and compliance standards Assists in coordinating the implementation of the Haleon QMS to ensure compliance with global standards. Assists in ensuring that product is manufactured to the required EHS standards. Executes Production activities in accordance with agreed supply plan. Helping to ensure the day-to-day continuous improvement activities result in a continuous improvement in the Site Performance towards the goal of Zero Accidents, Zero Defects and Zero Waste. Perform all tasks and duties within the GPS framework. Carries out other relevant non-specific duties relating to the Value Stream

Qualifications and skills
EssentialB Pharm or BSc Pharm Registered as a pharmacist Intern with the South African Pharmacy Council
