An established and growing brokerage based in Cape Town is looking for an experienced Personal Lines Underwriter to join their team.
This role is perfect for a detail-oriented insurance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys providing exceptional service while managing the full policy lifecycle from quotations to renewals.
? Key Requirements:
Grade 12 / Matric
FAIS compliant (RE5) beneficial
NQF4 insurance qualification advantageous
35+ years experience in short-term insurance, specialising in Personal Lines within a brokerage
Strong understanding of personal lines products, wordings, and pricing structures
Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
Experience with Tial or Cardinal360 systems advantageous
Fully bilingual (English & Afrikaans)
Excellent communication, accuracy, and administrative skills
? Role Overview:
Handle new business, endorsements, cancellations, and renewals efficiently and accurately
Ensure compliance with internal and insurer guidelines
Provide technical underwriting support and professional client communication
Maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients
Contribute to policy retention and underwriting profitability
Stay up to date with product, market, and regulatory changes
