The Role: Are you a People Operations (more traditionally called Human Resources or simply HR) professional seeking a dynamic and rewarding opportunity at a scaling SaaS company? We are looking for an experienced People Operations professional to join our team as a People Operations Manager. You will be responsible for managing a small and growing People Operations team and shaping and nurturing our talented workforce. With a focus on fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and excellence, you'll have the chance to drive impactful People Operations initiatives, ensure compliance with the relevant labour laws and governance, optimise talent acquisition strategies, and cultivate a vibrant workplace environment. Responsibilities: As the People Operations Manager your responsibilities will be to:

  • People Strategy: Align and articulate Electrum's people strategy with the company's strategic objectives
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Support diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy development
  • Organisation design: Identify opportunities to enhance organisational effectiveness and drive change initiatives
  • Change Management: Advise on and execute change management methodologies and manage team and organisational changes effectively
  • Management: Manage the People Operations team and set goals in accordance with the company goals
  • Policies and Contracting: Develop and implement HR/People Operations policies and procedures that align with the organisation's goals and objectives
  • Budgeting: Plan and track expenses against the People Operations budget
  • Statutory Compliance: Manage the BBBEE, EE and skills development processes in accordance with local legislation and compliance
  • Talent Acquisition: Oversee the recruitment and hiring process with the People Operations Generalist and Hiring Managers
  • Job and team design: Ensure all roles have accurate and up-to-date job descriptions
  • Training and development: Development and implement relevant training according to business needs
  • Remuneration and benefits: Conduct annual benchmarking exercise against salary data and oversee the payroll and employee benefits administration processes
  • Employee engagement and retention: Create and maintain policies and processes to enable Employee engagement and retention
Requirements Requirements
  • Degree in human resources, organisational psychology or related field
  • Proven working experience in People Operations/HR for 7+ years
  • Solid knowledge of local labour law and People Operations/HR best practices
  • Demonstrable experience with People Operations/HR metrics
  • Knowledge of People Operations/HR systems
  • Demonstrable experience of maintaining and implementing people related policies and processes in compliance with local laws
  • Experience in automating HR processes and designing efficient HR workflows
  • Team lead experience 4+ years
  • Demonstrable experience in building and managing a productive team (planning, prioritising, 1-1s, performance reviews, etc)
  • Ability to foster psychological safety in the team
  • Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information System) software and familiarity with technology-driven HR solutions
  • Managing up and out
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Active listener with strong negotiation and presentation skills
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • Organised or systematic with the ability to summarise
  • Comfortable with working in a VUCA environment
