Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead the People Operations team and align their objectives with company goals.
  • Articulate and synchronise the people strategy with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Provide support for the development of DEI strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve organisational efficiency and drive change initiatives.
  • Oversee recruitment and hiring in collaboration with the People Operations Generalist and Hiring Managers.
  • Maintain up-to-date job descriptions for all positions.
  • Conduct annual benchmarking against salary data and manage payroll and benefits administration.
  • Develop and uphold policies to enhance employee engagement and align with organisational goals.
  • Offer guidance on and implement effective change management methodologies.
  • Manage BBBEE, EE, and skills development processes in accordance with local regulations.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Plan and track expenses within the People Operations budget.
Relevant Skills / Experience:
  • Hold a degree in human resources, organisational psychology, or a related field.
  • Possess 5+ years of proven working experience in People Operations/HR.
  • Have a strong understanding of local labour laws and best practices in People Operations/HR.
  • Demonstrate expertise in People Operations/HR metrics.
  • Familiarity with People Operations/HR systems is required.
  • Track record of maintaining and implementing people-related policies and processes in accordance with local laws.
  • Bring 2+ years of team lead experience.
  • Show proficiency in building and managing a high-performing team, including planning, prioritising, conducting 1-1s, and performance reviews.
  • Create a psychologically safe environment within the team.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate competence in building and effectively managing interpersonal relationships across all company levels.
  • Have strong organisational and summarization skills.
  • Comfortably work in a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous) environment.
  • Experience in a technical environment would be advantageous.
  • Experience in a rapidly scaling organisation would be beneficial.
