Abaqulusi Private Hospital is seeking a passionate and experienced Unit Manager to lead our Medical and Surgical Ward. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, ensuring high-quality patient care, and managing nursing operations in line with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
1. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
Administer and process monthly payrolls accurately and on time using SAGE VIP Payroll.
Maintain and update all payroll records, employee details, and salary structures.
Validate and reconcile timesheets, leave applications, shift allowances, and overtime submissions.
Prepare and process new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and benefit changes.
Ensure compliance with all statutory deductions and submissions (PAYE, UIF, SDL, and Pension/Provident Funds).
Generate monthly payroll reports for management and finance departments.
Manage employee queries related to salaries, deductions, and benefits in a professional manner.
Perform payroll reconciliations and assist with financial year-end audits.
Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to align payroll activities with organizational policies and budgets.
Keep up to date with changes in labour legislation, SARS regulations, and payroll best practices.
Uphold strict confidentiality of all employee information and payroll data.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Matric (Grade 12) - essential.
A relevant Payroll, Human Resources, or Finance Diploma/Certificate - preferred.
Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in payroll administration within a private hospital or healthcare environment - essential.
Proven experience and proficiency in SAGE VIP Payroll.
Sound understanding of South African labour laws and payroll compliance standards (BCEA, UIF, PAYE, SDL, etc.).
Excellent numerical aptitude, attention to detail, and accuracy.
Strong computer literacy, including MS Excel (intermediate to advanced level).
Effective communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
High degree of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
