Job Advert Summary




To ensure accurate, timely, and compliant processing of wages and payroll inputs for all employees (permanent and TES) in accordance with internal policies, statutory requirements, and the Furniture Bargaining Council (FBC) regulations. The role ensures alignment between time & attendance records and payroll data, while providing key support to operations and HR on payroll-related matters in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Minimum Requirements



Minimum Qualifications and Experience





Education: Grade 12 / Matric (Essential). Payroll or Finance-related qualification or diploma (Advantageous).



Experience: Minimum 3-5 years payroll experience in a high-volume, unionised environment (Essential). Prior experience in the Furniture Bargaining Council.



Systems: Proficiency in Sage 300 People payroll system (Essential). Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel (Essential).



Industry: Experience in a manufacturing environment (Essential). Understanding of Collective Agreements and payroll-related statutory compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities



Time & Attendance:




Daily control and verification of all departmental timesheets. Ensure timely submission and authorization of T&A by department managers. Submit daily late-coming reports to Operations and HR. Capture and reconcile leave data between T&A and payroll systems. Assist with T&A system set-up and ongoing monitoring. Spot-check shift setups and ensure TES employees' timesheets are correctly linked and submitted. Understand and apply

Bargaining Council rules

on payroll processing.

Payroll Administration:




Capture and process all wage inputs (leave, sick notes, overtime, bonuses, etc.) as per authorization. Reconcile and validate payroll data to ensure a balanced run. Generate payroll packs for audit and management review. Submit accurate EFT payment batches for approval. Handle wage queries and support employees on payroll issues. Standardize payroll processes across divisions and assist in rollout/training. Process terminations and ensure timely UI19 and UIF submissions.

Month-End Processing:




Prepare third-party payment schedules (e.g. garnishees, union deductions). Submit monthly absenteeism reports.

Reporting:




Compile accurate payroll and T&A reports as requested. Produce weekly overtime reports in line with the FBC Collective Agreement. Provide support to HR and Operations for ad-hoc reporting needs.

Document Control:




Ensure proper filing of payroll inputs and employee documentation. Distribute IRP5s, holiday bonuses, and provident fund statements. * Maintain confidentiality and compliance with POPIA and audit standards.
