My client is a well-known JSE listed entity, currently expanding their partnerships with industry leaders, and they have a growth opportunity for a Payroll Accountant to join their dynamic team within the Education division of the organisation.

This company sees themselves as unconventional and would like to hire an independent candidate who is eccentric and will contribute to the overall success of the business. The candidate will advise and support the Financial Accounting Manager.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Review and Update Procedures: Take charge of reviewing and updating our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed, with a minimum annual review cycle. Your attention to detail will help streamline processes and ensure accuracy across the board.
• IFRS Alignment: Align our SOPs with the requirements of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), demonstrating your commitment to maintaining international accounting best practices.
• Journal Entry Preparation: Manage and prepare accurate and timely payroll account journal entries necessary for efficient payroll processing, showcasing your expertise in financial transactions.
• Reconciliation Expertise: Complete reconciliations for Payroll General Ledger (GL) accounts, ensuring data accuracy and identifying any discrepancies.
• Operational Reporting: Provide crucial input into our monthly Operational Reporting, contributing to the overall financial insights that drive our decision-making.

• A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• Completed SAIPA / SAICA Articles
• Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Proficiency in financial systems and software
