Fedics is looking for a Patient liaison officer who provides support and communication to patients and their families in a healthcare setting.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties:

  • Greeting and directing patients to examination rooms.
  • Scheduling patient appointments and making reminder calls.
  • Informing patients about delays and waiting times.
  • Obtaining patientsxe2x80x99 addresses, contact details, insurance information, and medical histories.
  • Updating and verifying patient information at every visit.
  • Responding to the needs of patients in a timely manner.
  • Resolving issues and recommending ways to better care for patients to the hospital and keep files confidential.
Responsibilities:
  • Act as a an intermediary between hospitals and patients, helping to resolve patient issues.
  • Coordinate with insurance companies to ensure that bills are paid on time and that insuarance claims are processed accurately.
  • Educate patients about their condition, treatment options, and other aspects.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families during times of stress and crisis.
  • Assist in medical recordkeeping, including keeping track of appointments, updating patient charts with new information, and communicating with other members of the healthcare team
  • Coordinate with social workers and discharge planners to arrange for post-discharge care such as home care, outpatient therapy, and nutrition services
  • Arrange for transportation to and from appointments and other activities, including arranging for taxi service or car rentals
  • Provide outreach services to patients who are not able to communicate effectively due to language barriers or other needs, working with interpreters and other staff members to ensure effective communication

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associatexe2x80x99s or bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in healthcare or a related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in customer service or a related field, preferably in a healthcare setting
