Job Summary Red Ember Recruitment, on behalf of the client, is seeking a passionate and skilled Pastry Chef to be in Franschhoek. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft exceptional pastries and desserts, contributing to unforgettable dining experiences. Responsibilities: Prepare and design a wide variety of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods for the restaurant menu. Develop innovative pastry and dessert options for seasonal menus and special events. Create and modify recipes to suit customer preferences, dietary restrictions, or feedback. Ensure proper FIFO procedures for food storage and rotation to maintain freshness and minimize waste. Maintain consistency in taste, appearance, portion control, and presentation standards. Oversee ingredient quality and proper handling of all baked goods. Collaborate with the Head Chef on special menus for events, promotions, and seasonal changes. Manage inventory of pastry ingredients and supplies, minimizing waste and controlling costs. Participate in monthly inventory counts and maintain accurate stock documentation. Requirements: Minimum 2 years' experience in a 5-star hotel or fine dining restaurant. Matric Certificate. Diploma or certification in Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, or related field.
