A vacancy has arisen for a dedicated, hands-on Part-Time Manager to join our dynamic team in Honingklip Krugersdorp. This is a chance for a versatile and motivated applicant to significantly contribute to the daily operations of a thriving tree nursery while growing their career within a supportive learning environment.

Position Overview

As a hands-on part-time manager at Sun Trees Nursery, you will play a key role in overseeing the daily operations of a tree nursery, ensuring the health and quality of the plants, managing staff, and providing excellent customer service.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

At least 10 years hands-on experience in a nursery or construction field.

Ability to handle physically demanding work, including working outdoors under varying weather conditions.

Ability to prioritize tasks effectively to ensure the nursery runs smoothly

Demonstrate the ability to lead, motivate, delegate tasks, and maintain a productive and positive work environment.

Strong critical thinking for managing both day-to-day tasks and unexpected issues that arise in the nursery.

Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with customers, answer questions, and resolve concerns.

A valid driver's license is essential

Responsibilities

Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills for managing staff and operations.

Create staff schedules to ensure proper coverage and supervise team members, offering guidance as needed.

Train new or less experienced staff on plant care, nursery operations, and safety protocols.

Provide ongoing mentorship and support to help staff improve skills.

Regularly assess staff performance and offer constructive feedback or corrective action.

Ensure all tasks are completed on time and to high standards.

Oversee plant health, including watering, pest control, and pruning.

Maintain nursery grounds, ensuring pathways are clean and equipment is functional.

Address customer concerns or complaints promptly and ensure resolution to their satisfaction
