St Cyprian's School seeks to appoint a dynamic and passionate

Chess Coach

who will inspire and nurture a love for the game among learners across both our Preparatory and High School phases from

January 2026.





We are looking for a motivated individual who not only brings technical expertise and a proven track record in coaching chess but also embodies our school's values of curiosity, courage, and connection.

Minimum Requirements



Minimum 3 years' experience coaching and/or managing chess at school level (Prep and/or High School). Proven ability to coach a range of abilities - from beginner to competitive/national level. SACE registration (or eligibility). Excellent administrative, communication, and digital skills. Strong organisational and time-management abilities.

Duties and Responsibilities



Coaching and mentoring various Prep and High School chess teams. Preparing players for internal and external fixtures and tournaments. Overseeing weekly practices and match fixtures. Supporting the development of chess across the school as both a competitive and inclusive activity. Collaborating closely with the Sports Department to maintain a culture of excellence, respect, and sportsmanship. * Managing communication, schedules, and reporting with professionalism and accuracy.
