Main Purpose of the Partnership and Advocacy Coordinator is responsible for the coordination & maintenance of Jakes Gerwel Fellowship's strategic partnerships, and the planning and execution of Jakes Gerwel Fellowship's communications and advocacy activities.
Objectives of Role
Stakeholder/ Partner Management
Assist with stakeholder mapping; identify collaboration opportunities; monitor and report on stakeholder, sector and other politically significant activities.
Identify, develop, and maintain strategic relationships with key players within the sector.
Coordinate stakeholder engagements, communication and reporting as it relates to the functional area.
Data Management
Maintain a Data Management System to house all Jakes Gewel Fellowship strategic partner agreements and related information.
Plan, coordinate and manage all partner activities, engagements, and reporting (monthly, quarterly, and yearly) requirements on behalf of Jakes Gerwel Fellowship.
Communications & Advocacy Initiatives
Work with Communications and Media agency to develop Jakes Gerwel Fellowship's internal and external communications plan.
Develop and manage Jakes Gerwel Fellowship's advocacy activities and inputs as required, incl. events, research, and communications.
In collaboration with agency, develop and ideate content & campaigns for all relevant digital platforms, incl Op-Eds, thought pieces, press releases and research.
Monitor, track, and update Jakes Gerwel Fellowship's overall communications portfolio including social media, website, and other communication platforms.
Service Provider Management
Effectively manage service providers according to Jakes Gerwel Fellowship guidelines.
Experience and Qualifications
Education:
Relevant Degree in Education / Development Studies / Project Management / Media/ Journalism / Communications, or a related field
Experience:
Minimum 5 years' experience at a similar level coordinating similar projects within philanthropy, education, government or development sector.
Skills
:
Proficient use Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Asana, Google Suite, Slack, Dropbox and/or equivalents
