Job Description


Planet Fitness is looking for a skilled and motivated In-House Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will primarily focus on the review and drafting of agreements, serving as a legal advisor to the business, and providing support in the negotiation and management of rental agreements. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Agreement Review and Drafting:

  • Conduct thorough reviews of various legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and other legal instruments.
  • Draft, edit, and revise agreements to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information for accurate drafting.
Legal Advisory:
  • Provide proactive legal guidance and support to internal stakeholders on a wide range of legal issues affecting the business.
  • Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations relevant to the industry and ensure the company's compliance.
  • Participate in business strategy meetings to offer legal insights and contribute to informed decision-making.
Rental Agreements:
  • Assist in the negotiation, preparation, and review of rental agreements for various business purposes.
  • Work closely with real estate and property management teams to ensure legal aspects are addressed in rental agreements.
  • Advise on landlord-tenant relationships and related legal matters.
Contract Management:
  • Develop and implement systems for efficient contract management, including organizing, storing, and tracking agreements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and deadlines.
Research and Analysis:
  • Conduct legal research to support business initiatives and address legal concerns.
  • Analyze legal issues and provide clear, concise, and practical recommendations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or related field.
  • Paralegal certification or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience as a paralegal with a focus on contract review and drafting.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law and legal principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a corporate or in-house legal department.
  • Familiarity with real estate and rental agreements.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance standards.
