KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



Reviewing paintshop quality metrics and present reports on identified defects in collaboration with paintshop lab engineers.

Conducting microscopic analysis of paint defects, determining root causes, and implementing corrective and preventative measures.

Operating and maintaining paint quality inspection equipment (e.g., coating thickness, adhesion, colour matching, transparency) and managing related tools and lab instruments.

Overseeing and updating paintshop quality management systems, including sealer application, paint mixing and wax application processes.

Developing and implementing quality training documentation, quarterly training plans and quality awareness initiatives. Compile detailed reports on quality metrics and present them to senior management on a regular basis.

Monitoring and achieving Paintshop Quality KPIs by analyzing data, resolving manpower- related issues, and managing the quality inspector team.

Plan, implement and control quality inspection processes and procedures and ensure all quality management system processes are complied with by quality inspectors and paint shop personnel.

Conduct regular audits, analysing findings and presenting process capability results and audit feedback to senior management.

Ensure compliance with all safety rules, company policies and quality management system requirements in an OEM paintshop environment.

Comply with management requirements and complete work assignments in a timeous manner and instructions given by superiors.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Quality Management certification (essential)

Minimum of 3 years' experience in a quality engineering role within an OEM Paintshop environment.

At least 2 years' prior experience as a Quality Inspector

Valid Code 8 (or higher) driver's license with a minimum of 2 year's driving experience

COMPETENCIES:



Strong technical knowledge of automobile systems and paintshop processes

Ability to accurately identify and address quality defects

Knowledge of ISO/TS16949 standards

Proficiency in statistical analysis and data-driven problem solving

Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail

Excellent report writing and presentation skills

Self- motivated, proactive, and able to work independently

Strong leadership, team management and interpersonal skills
