Were the people care teams rely on when offices close making sure urgent calls are answered, emergencies are handled, and vulnerable people are never left without help.
Who Were Looking For Please Read Before Applying
This role is only for experienced health or social care professionals who have recent call handling and administrative experience.
If you do not meet these criteria, your application will not be considered.
You must have:
Minimum 1 year recent experience in health or social care (leadership, supervisory, or clinical roles strongly preferred)
Proven call handling or administrative experience (ideally in a care or medical setting)
Fluent English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Confidence in managing urgent or sensitive conversations calmly and professionally
Strong IT skills and ability to learn new systems quickly
A quiet, private home workspace, fast fibre internet, laptop, and quality headset
SARS tax registration (if based in South Africa)
What Youll Do
Answer urgent and emergency out-of-hours calls from care staff, service users, families, and healthcare professionals
Follow set procedures to log, escalate, and resolve calls quickly and accurately
Provide calm, professional, and reassuring support in high-pressure situations
Occasionally assist with admin, audits, or rota support during UK office hours
Be the steady voice at the other end of the line when it matters most whether arranging last-minute cover or guiding someone through a crisis until help arrives
Working Hours
Weekdays: 5:00 PM 9:00 AM (UK time)
Weekends & UK Bank Holidays: 24-hour coverage on a rota
This is a night-based role suited only to those comfortable and focused working overnight from home

What Youll Need:

  • A quiet, private workspace at home, fast fibre internet, a suitable laptop, and a quality headset.
  • Experience in the health or social care sector ideally in a leadership, supervisory, or clinical role.
  • The ability to multitask, remain calm under pressure, and think clearly and quickly.
  • A professional, clear and friendly phone manner both with care staff and service users.
  • Tech confidence ability to learn new systems, apps, and workflows quickly.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English (excellent communication is essential).
  • Willingness to work at least alternate weekends, and ideally more.
  • Proof of tax registration with SARS in South Africa (required for employment).
