Duties & Responsibilities

• Analyse and interpret data stored in Oracle databases to provide insights for decision-making and business process improvement.

• Design and develop complex SQL and PL/SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyse data efficiently.

• Create reports, dashboards, and visualisations using tools such as Oracle BI and Power BI.

• Perform data profiling to understand data structures, relationships, and patterns.

• Conduct data cleansing and quality assessments to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

• Develop and maintain documentation for queries, reports, dashboards, and data processes.

• Optimise SQL queries for performance improvements in large datasets.

• Work closely with database administrators to ensure database integrity, security, and availability.

• Support ad-hoc data analysis requests and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.

• Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy regulations, and organisational standards.

• Participate in testing and validation of new data sources, processes, and reports.

• 3-year National Diploma (NQF 6) or higher in an ICT-related field (e.g., Computer Science or Information Technology).

• Oracle certification is an added advantage.

• Advanced SQL and PL/SQL development skills.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.

• Experience with Oracle Database technologies and data analysis tools.

• Proficiency in Oracle BI, Power BI, or similar analytics platforms.

• Knowledge of data profiling, cleansing, and quality assurance practices.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
