Conduct detailed pre-operative assessments to evaluate suitability for laser vision correction and cataract surgery
Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, including refraction, corneal mapping, and ocular biometry
Educate patients on surgical procedures, risks, and post-operative care
Manage post-operative care, monitoring recovery, assessing visual outcomes, and addressing complications
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless patient care
Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with regulatory standards
Stay informed about advancements in refractive surgery and optometry
Bachelor's degree in Optometry from an accredited institution
Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa ( HPCSA )
Strong clinical skills with a focus on precision and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills to convey complex information clearly
Ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary, dynamic team setting
Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care
Comprehensive training will be provided for those new to refractive surgery, while experienced candidates will have the opportunity to explore advanced roles within the practice.
