The purpose of an Operator I is to provide first-line technical support and problem-solving. Operator I is a highly collaborative role, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs to deliver the right solutions, while acting as a trusted partner. The role assists with monitoring the health of the IT Infrastructure and escalating when necessary. Reporting to the Team Leader, the role is accountable for participating in the required support activities.
Job Objectives
Maintain frequent and time-consuming monitoring of operating systems.
Support the team with Monitoring and executing system backups.
Monitoring of store data interchange.
Assist with data recovery and disaster recovery.
Support generator and UPS testing.
Proactively work to support the team in the achievement of ensuring backup media is moved off-site.
Ensure the operation of network and system monitoring systems for stakeholders.
Continuous monitoring of Data Center Infrastructure.
Timeously responding to exceptions according to SLA.
Participate in System and Server Monitoring.
Develop an awareness of a wide spectrum of IT technologies.
Assist the Cyber Security team with First Line Support.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities when requested
Qualifications
Grade 12 - Mandatory
Any IT related certification - (preferred)
Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, Database or related field - (beneficial)
Experience
Experience in monitoring and operational tools such as SAP and Linux
Knowledge and Skills
Exposure to monitoring and operational tools such as SAP and Linux - (beneficial)
Proficiency in MS Office 365 with basic Excel skills - (mandatory).
24/7 On Site operations which requires individual to work shifts, which includes night shift.
