Introduction
Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Operator Control Room Without Blasting to be placed in Limpopo, Musina. The successful candidate will report to the Control Room Supervisor. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.
Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Provide an effective control room operator service to ensure daily production targets are met
- Assist with the supervision of the daily activities of the Control Room Assistants
- Report system malfunctions immediately and lead communications to advise system users of outages and progress
- Accurate recording of standing hours and outage times, escalate anomalies to Supervisor
- Monitor the service and portable water supply for underground use
- Apply appropriate stand by and/or call out procedures
- Compile reports as requested by Supervisor
- Maintain and operate the control room systems / functions to quality standards
- Maintain good control room housekeeping standards
- Effective team and self-management in alignment with M&RCxe2x80x99s values
Minimum requirements
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12 (with Pure Mathxe2x80x99s & Physical Science)
- Blasting or Trade Certificate (advantageous)
- Exposure to digital production control system (advantageous)
- MS Office Proficient (Word and Excel)
- Good English verbal and written communication skills
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
- At least 4 years of experience in trackless underground mining
- At least 3 years of experience as a Control Room Assistant
