The main objective of an Operations Technologist is to utilize process knowledge, technical expertise and operations experience to assist in correcting process or equipment issues and improving process performance and reliability. This role also serves as a link between Production and Maintenance activities. It focuses on coordination of maintenance repairs without equipment/production schedule interruptions and also co-ordinate equipment preparation/permitting for scheduled maintenance.
Minimum Requirements
Matric and Btech/BSc in Production Management/Chemical Engineering.
5 years in the manufacturing environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Gate Keeper in the Maintenance work process
Provides a resource with plant/department knowledge and experience
Utilizes plant resource/s with working knowledge of the process
Coach and enhance the technical capabilities of the teams
Lead or support small projects, improvement programs, and cross-functional teams
Act as procedure coordinator and training owner; manage competency declarations and PJOs
Collaborate with production engineers on permanent plant process changes
Lead start-up/shutdown coordination and manage unplanned events
Perform standby duties as per schedule
Coordinate Maintenance and operational activities, ensuring adherence to work processes and MOC requirements
* Evaluate and manage SAP work requests, backlog, and maintenance schedules
