What will you do?

This is a specialist management position that reports directly to the COO and serves on the MWL MANCO. This role is accountable for providing operational management and support for the Underwriting function across the MWL business and undertakes medical underwriting as required.

Key responsibilities include:

xe2xa6x81 Execute and maintain the Underwriting philosophy and strategy to support new business, client servicing and claims.
xe2xa6x81 Maintain and continually improve operational best practices and processes
xe2xa6x81 People management
xe2xa6x81 Manage stakeholder relationships
xe2xa6x81 Drive operational effectiveness and efficiencies
xe2xa6x81 Undertake required related MIS, analysis and reporting
xe2xa6x81 Manage team expenses

What will make you successful in this role?

Qualification & experience

xe2xa6x81 Matric with Nursing Degree/Diploma or relevant medical qualification
xe2xa6x81 3-5 years underwriting experience is required
xe2xa6x81 Experience in financial distribution services/sales/call centre environment
xe2xa6x81 People management experience will be advantageous

Qualification and Experience

Diploma with 8 to 12 years related experience. Underwriting limit R2.5 million.
