DESCRIPTION/SYNOPSIS:

This position, located in Wapadrand, Pretoria, is for an Operations Manager within a well-established transport management company that specializes in bulk commodity transportation. As the Operations Manager, your primary responsibility is to ensure efficient and timely goods delivery, overseeing a versatile fleet of over 100 trucks, transporting more than 80,000 tons monthly.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Tertiary qualification in transport or logistics management or similar.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or related field.

Proven experience in logistics and trucking operations.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Proficiency in logistics software and systems.

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Effective communication and negotiation skills.

Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.

Valid driver's license.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee day-to-day logistics and trucking operations.

Utilize expertise in cross-border logistics.

Manage 100+ trucks and ensure fleet control.

Onboard new transporters and manage relationships.

Develop and implement systems for improved efficiency.

Foster customer relationships.

Experience with coal, manganese, and other commodities preferred.

Ensure compliance with safety and industry regulations.

Analyze key performance indicators for continuous improvement.

Drive revenue growth through effective management and incentives.
