Job Description


  • The Operations Manager must oversee all the operations within the business daily.
  • This role is accountable for directing, coordinating, and administering key enabling operational functions across the business.
  • It plays a business partner role to the CEO and is individually accountable for achieving results through other managers and their teams over periods of up to two years.
  • Provides a healthy balance between governance and entrepreneurship.
  • To oversee the operations of the company's Logistics, Workshop, Welding, Key Accounts & MRF (Material Recovery Facility) division in a manner that ensures efficiency, cost-effectiveness, profitability, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • This involves developing and implementing strategies, policies, and procedures that optimize the performance of the various divisions as well as coordinating and collaborating with other departments and stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
  • The job also involves monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators, analysing data to identify opportunities for improvement, and managing budgets to ensure financial sustainability.
  • Ultimately, the primary goal of the job is to ensure that the divisions deliver high-quality services to internal & external customers while maximizing the company's profitability.
Role Description
  • The incumbent is accountable for the operational success of the business through direct support to the CEO.
  • Represents the CEO on a variety of forums and attends key meetings on behalf of the CEO and is required to serve on various committees.
  • With support from the Logistics, Key Accounts and Sales manager(s), drives specific strategic initiatives with respect to Customers.
  • Co-ordinates and manages the annual strategy formulation, business planning and budgeting process for the business.
  • The incumbent is accountable, together with the CEO, for the execution of the Business plan.
  • Analyses and reviews business performance against plan and recommends corrective actions. Ensure maximization and efficiency of current operations.
  • Assist functional heads in implementing operational plans.
  • Reviews and ensures that IT technology supports the delivery of the business strategy.
  • Plans design and leads project teams to improve current operations.
  • The incumbent is accountable for SLAs between the company and other companies / third parties to ensure scale and cost benefits.
  • Manage the successful execution of strategic projects in collaboration with other executives.
  • The incumbent is also responsible for all operations in compliance with goals, policies and objectives established by the CEO and the Board of Directors.
  • Directs, coordinates and administers all aspects of business operations.
  • Develop policies that encompass all or some areas of the business operations.
