Minimum requirements for the role:

• A tertiary qualification in production, technical or chemical-related discipline is preferred for the role but is not essential.
• Previous experience having worked in a production or operational management role within the liquid inks industry is essential.
• The successful candidate must have solvent-based liquid ink experience.
• Must have worked within a highly inflammable environment.
• The successful candidate must have strong leadership and management skills and strong problem-solving skills.
• Must have a high level of integrity and ethical standards.
• Must be able to work to a deadline.
• Must have strong analytical and computer skills.
• Must have excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Must be familiar with all raw materials used in the manufacturing of liquid inks.
• Must be able to implement processes and procedures.
• Must have extensive understanding of On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) manufacturing.
• Supply chain experience would be an added advantage.
• Must be conversant with sales and operational planning processes.
• Previous experience handling a unionised workforce is an added advantage.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Managing and overseeing all the operational and production aspects of this liquid ink manufacturing company.
• Managing, overseeing, directing and driving staff to ensure that production efficiencies quality and quantity specifications ensuring that production KPIs are met.
• Managing and overseeing production scheduling and planning, to run a safe and efficient production area.
• Managing and driving standard operating operational procedures and practices (SOPs) to ensure efficient use of time and resources.
• Overseeing raw material requirements for production.
• Managing and ensuring that the production and technical managers produce finished products and packaging in the highest order.
• Handling and driving all operational functions in the company to ensure business growth through streamlined processes.
• Improving brand recognition in the market and creating a cost-effective, efficient and reliable operational process that meets worldwide standards.
• Overseeing and driving maintaining best production and manufacturing practices.
• Managing and overseeing systems to comply with legislative requirements, ensuring that staff adhere to safety regulations.
• Ensuring that risk assessments are identified and removed.
