The Operations Manager is responsible for end-to-end operational planning, coordination, and execution of the International Motor-cross Event 2026.

This role ensures that all infrastructure, logistics, safety, security, medical services, accreditation, transport, and venue operations are delivered in full compliance with FIM and Infront Moto Racing standards, and that the event operates safely, efficiently, and seamlessly from setup through tear down.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



1. OPERATIONAL PLANNING & GOVERNANCE



Develop and manage the

Master Operations Plan

for MXGP South Africa. Establish the

Event Operations Centre (EOC)

command structure. Define operational workflows, escalation protocols, and reporting systems. Coordinate operational readiness across all departments and stakeholders

2. VENUE & INFRASTRUCTURE OPERATIONS



Oversee all venue setup, readiness, and tear down activities.
Coordinate:

Track access and operational zones Paddock, pit lane, and team facilities Spectator areas and hospitality zones Ensure venue readiness meets

FIM homologation and inspection requirements

3. LOGISTICS & TRANSPORT



Manage all logistics planning, including:

International freight and customs coordination Equipment deliveries Setup and tear down schedules
Design and implement traffic management plans for:

Teams Media VIPs Spectators Coordinate shuttle services and vehicle movement routes.

4. SAFETY, SECURITY & MEDICAL SERVICES



Lead implementation of:

Health & Safety Management Plan Crowd management strategies Emergency evacuation routes
Coordinate with:

SAPS JMPD Private security providers Medical response teams Ensure full compliance with

MSA and FIM safety standards

. Conduct pre-event safety drills and briefings.

5. ACCREDITATION & ACCESS CONTROL



Oversee accreditation systems for:

Teams Media Officials Staff VIPs
Ensure controlled access to:

Paddock Media center Race control Hospitality areas Implement access control procedures during Event Week.

6. EVENT WEEK OPERATIONS (PHASE 5)



Lead all on-site operational execution during race week. Manage daily operational briefings and incident response. Coordinate across departments to resolve issues in real time. Ensure smooth rider, team, media, and spectator flow. Support broadcast and ceremonial operations.

7. POST-EVENT CLOSE-OUT



Manage tear down and site restoration. Compile operational reports and incident logs. Support post-event debriefs with stakeholders and governing bodies. Contribute to operational improvements for future MXGP events.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS



Essential:



Proven experience in

large-scale event or sports operations


Strong background in:

Logistics Safety Crowd management Multi-agency coordination Experience working with

government authorities and emergency services

Exceptional organizational and leadership skills Ability to operate under extreme time pressure

A plus if you have:



Motorsport or international sporting event experience Experience with FIM, FIA, or similar international federations Infrastructure or venue operations background
