Operations Manager Industrial

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Provide strategic leadership, direction and overall management
Identify business opportunities within the industrial sector
Liaise with clients regarding scope of business
Prepare annual budgets and strategic plans and ensure effective control thereof
Review financial forecasts and report on variances
Co-ordinate activities of several alternatives concurrently across business boundaries
Guide operational issues, monitor progress and make necessary changes when necessary
Provide direction and guidance on both strategic- and operational matters
Perform duties and responsibilities as specified by Managing Director
Ensure good governance of business unit
Review business processes for improvement
Manage and motivate a competent supervisory and administration team
Proactively work with marketing and estimating teams to secure work for the unit
Ensure co-operation and co-ordination with other business units and departments
Support and ensure a positive and dynamic culture exist in the unit

Requirements

Minimum 10 years' management experience in an industrial environment of which at least four at a senior level
Relevant B-degree in Mechanical Engineering will be a distinct advantage
Considerable knowledge of the principals, techniques, and practices of the engineering industry
Strong planning, organizing and directing skills
Dynamic drive and results orientation
Good financial planning understanding and strategic management skills
Able to foster good internal and external relationships
