A leading recycling and manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Operations Manager with strong experience in recycling, manufacturing, or waste management to join their team in Germiston. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving operational excellence across multiple branches, managing branch managers, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and optimizing processes to maximize efficiency and productivity.
Responsibilities:
Direct and manage daily operations, including processing, baling, and shipping of materials.
Oversee operational budgets, capital expenditures, and cost-control measures.
Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and other departments to align operations with business goals.
Develop and implement strategic plans to drive growth, process improvement, and profitability.
Lead and mentor Branch Managers and their teams, conducting performance reviews.
Ensure adherence to company safety policies and all relevant regulations.
Monitor production data, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvement initiatives.
Oversee plant equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance plans.
Manage logistics, inventory flow, and coordination with suppliers and transport providers.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma (Management certification advantageous).
Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in a management role within recycling, waste management, or manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of recycling processes, materials, and market trends.
Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations (e.g., Waste Act, environmental permits).
Financial management and budgeting expertise.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Own reliable transportation.
