Operations Manager - Cape TownFull job descriptionThe Haven Night Shelter Organisation (www.haven.org.za), a non -governmental organisation working to help the homeless back to a home, family and community, require a dynamic Operational Manager that will be based at the Head Office, 2 Napier Street, Cape Town.The Haven Night Shelter Organisation's method is to offer social work services, rehabilitation opportunities, family reunification services, physical care and support available to adult people living on the streets who are committed to reintegration.The role of the Operations Managers is to ensure:The realization of the Haven objectives as amended from time to time.That Haven shelters comply with relevant the Norms & Standards for the Shelters, health and safety requirements, are clean and well run.An efficient, effective and dignified hospitality service at Haven shelters.That the occupancy targets are reached and;Negative exits are reduced, and positive exits are increased.The Operational Manager will report to the CEO.Minimum Requirements:Degree or other accredited tertiary qualification in Management, preferably in the Social Sciences.5-10 years' work experience, NGO sector will be an advantage.Code 08 driver's licence (non-negotiable).Advanced Computer skills- MS Outlook, MS Word and Excel.Ability to build positive relationships with key stakeholders, and good motivational ability to build teams internally.Excellent multitasking and organizational skills and problem-solving capabilities.Ability to work under minimal supervision.ResponsibilitiesAudit of all shelters with specific reference to referrals, outreach, hospitality, client care, client complaints, maintenance and hospitality;Reviewing of all the practices and SOP's with regards to the above mentioned;To ensure that all policies are reviewed, developed, implemented and monitor to enable the harmonising of all shelters.Build and establish working relationships (regular meetings understanding of roles and responsibilities) with, inter alia;o CEO and Manager at Head Office ando Senior Shelter Managers/ Shelter Managers and the Operational ManagerTo assist the Shelters where there are no Shelter Managers and;Responsible for identifying, managing and mitigating all risk factors for the organisation.Closing Date: 21 January 2024Salary Package: R29 000.00 per monthJob Type: PermanentNB.
