TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be the hotelxe2x80x99s number two, you are the soul of Radisson Red Cape Town.
  • You manage the team of Creatives and Operational leadsxe2x80xa6 throughout the hotel, they are making it clean, cooking on the stoves, out front serving the coffees, shaking the cocktails, booking tours, making reservations, checking guests, always laughing with guests, playing the odd game and even a little bit of mischief now and again, but thatxe2x80x99s generally ok, at RED we demand it.
  • Day to day, you rule the roost, planning and operating the hotel, making it happen. The guest experience paramount and always topping the agenda.
  • Working proactively with 6-8 Heads of Department and key stakeholders to maximize guest satisfaction and comfort, delivering a positive and responsive approach to enquiries and problem resolution.
  • Partners with the Curator to ensure the business strategies are set and being implemented. Reviews and appropriate adjustments when needed.
  • Keeping a look out, by that we mean, looking ahead. Today is important, but so is tomorrow and in 73 days too (even 97, we could go on).
  • Communicating, always, brand appropriate and ensuring all areas of the hotel have the information they need and the creatives are ready to make it happen.
  • Present; in the soul of house, in the action, happy moving from the rooftop alive with DJ and splash pool, to the events areas and a book reading, over to the lobby where a group are looking for a restaurant recommendation.   • Making revenue and profit through the daily management of business and resources. Forecasting, exact.
  • Drive the guest experience, they canxe2x80x99t wait to come back and they will tell others, promise. And engaging with guests, the creatives love it too. Capturing the feedback at every opportunity and responding. Online, social, itxe2x80x99s constant snap and chatter.
  • Working with the sales, marketing and Red gen team to ensure all tactics of business are delivered and be creative. Innovation is our heartbeat.
  • Comply, always. Our licenses, audits, legal obligations, itxe2x80x99s all covered and we know our legislation. This is in bold.
  • Coaching the creatives. Plans in place for each individual. The approach, we want each person to develop as far as they want to go. We insist.
  • Service standards always developed and delivered. And yes, SOPxe2x80x99s, they are our foundation, always up-to-date and utilised. You know, each Mojito should look and taste the same, no strawberries, ever.
  • Communicates on all fronts to everyone. Ensures the team and our guests know whatxe2x80x99s going on when and where. And there is a system in place for the team to follow suit too.
  • Maintaining a constant information flow within our sector, seeking out the trends, not always following, happy to be bold and set the trends when itxe2x80x99s needed. Because you just know itxe2x80x99s going to work.
  • Ensuring Red brand tone of voice with clients, potential clients and third parties and colleagues. Always an ambassador.
  • Proactive and creative. We can react of course. But we will also create, our events becoming familiarly famous within Cape Town. You are part of making that happen.
  • Systems management. Yes, it will be required, the property management system, food & drink system and all of our IT developments. The reports should be read, they make interesting reading.
  • Happy to analyse and tackle. How many Yummy meatballs and mash spoons do we sell on a Wednesday morning? Late night minty lattes? You get the drift.
  • Next step, well the boss. As far as you want to go, remember?
Competencies & skills requirements
  • Proven experience in a Hotel Management at Head of Department Level or above
  • Must have 2 years Food and Beverage experience within the hospitality industry
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with the ability to adapt to changing environments
  • Excellent leadership skills with a hands-on approach and lead-by-example work style
  • Commitment to exceptional guest service with a passion for the hospitality industry
  • Ability to find solutions, offering advice and recommendations
  • Personal integrity, with the ability to work in an environment that demands excellence, time and energy
  • Strong communication and listening skills, excellent speaking, reading and writing skills
  • Outstanding analytical and strategic skills improving the business from a financial perspective
  • Excellent ability to work collaboratively across functions and cultures in a global environment
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office software
  • An open, positive and communicative personality
