Operations Manager - BellvillePosition title : OPERATIONS MANAGERPosition reports to : KEY ACCOUNT MANAGERBusiness Unit : FACILITIES MANAGEMENTMain purpose / objective of the position:The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a building client site. Some important duties include: Inspection of buildings, management and control of service and maintenance contractors, management and control of tenant installations and executions of building related activities. Ensuring quality control throughout project life cycles.Decision making authority:Subject to mandate received from client.Decisions are based on the knowledge of theory and systems. Required to choose from a limited array of routines or rules at his/her disposal. Works within specific prescribed policies and guidelines.Experience / Education:A minimum of 5 years experience in Facilities/Operations Management. Minimum qualification Grade 12. Electrical, Mechanical or Construction background. Technical skills would be a recommendation, specifically with regards to Electrical and Mechanical aspects. People management experienceSkills required:Quality/standards awareness and implementation, basic contract management (soft and hard services), co-ordination skills, business writing skills, financial numeracy skills, project management skills, Computer literacy (MS Office).Knowledge required:Technical knowledge (HVAC and BMS systems), knowledge of company policies and procedures, administration principles and reporting, Occupational Health and Safety, service level agreements.Competencies required:Customer & quality focus, methodological, teamwork and co-operation, problem solving and decision making, communication skills, tolerance for stress, assertive, accuracy, drive and productivity.Major drivers of work volume:Quality Control, technical assessments, reactive and preventative maintenance.Interface / relationships with:Internal: Senior management of both the client and CBRE Excellerate, other subsidiaries within the Excellerate Group.External: Role players in the facilities management industry, including contractors/facility managers/ property owners / tenants
