Our client requires the services of an Operations Engineer (Senior) Midrand/Menlyn/Rosslyn/Home Office rotation.

EXPERIENCE: 8-10 Years related working experience.

COMMENCEMENT: As soon as possible.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
  • Min. 5-7 years IT experience
  • A university degree in a relevant field of study (e.g. computer science, engineering, sciences, ...) or a comparable qualification
  • Microsoft 365 Certification (eg: MS-100, MS-101, MS-203) is advantageous
  • ITIL Foundation certification
  • IT experience delivering operations support services
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of email security, compliance, and data protection
  • Experience with email migration and integration projects
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and industry trends
ESSENTIAL SKILLS

Exchange Online Management:
  • Administer and support Exchange Online, including mailbox configuration, distribution lists, and mail flow rules.
  • Monitor and maintain email services to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve messaging-related issues.
M365 Implementation:
  • Participate in the deployment and migration of on-premises email systems to Exchange Online.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to design, plan, and execute M365-related projects.
Security and Compliance:
  • Implement and maintain email security measures, including anti-phishing, anti-malware, and data loss prevention (DLP) policies.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaboration and Integration:
  • Work closely with the IT team to integrate messaging solutions with other Microsoft 365 services, such as Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Provide technical guidance on best practices for collaboration tools and integrations.
Documentation and Training:
  • Create and maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and procedures related to messaging systems.
  • Train end-users and IT staff on effective use of messaging services.
Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Set up monitoring tools and reports to track system performance and resolve issues proactively.
  • Generate reports and provide insights into the health of messaging services.
  • Ability to monitor and optimize Microsoft 365 services for performance and reliability.
ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS
  • Experience in troubleshooting infrastructure, network and integration issues
  • Experience with ITL processes (Incident, Change and Problem management)
  • Good written and spoken English skills
  • Good Documentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills in a clear a concise way with team members, stakeholders and management on an appropriate level of detail
  • Working knowledge of the following communication and connectivity systems: Microsoft TCP/IP, networking protocols, Internet application connectivity
  • Agile mindset (knowledge of agile processes and principles)
  • Strong ability to understand technical dependencies and enterprise setup on a global scale
  • Strong ability to analyze issues, build a resolution plan and bring it to successful implementation
  • Ability to deliver on time and in excellent quality
  • Willing to deal with international and global customers, and different language barriers

  • Ability and willingness to coach and give training to colleagues
ROLE:
  • Managing and steering of service provider responsibilities on a daily basis
  • Establishing and supporting proactive measures for operations delivery
  • Establishing key user stories and deliverables for the service provider
  • Managing and reporting on outcomes, issues, and service provider topics
  • Resolve IM (Incident Management) tickets.
  • Resolve CIM (Critical Incident Management) tickets as required.
  • Coordinate PM (Problem Management) tickets as identified.
  • Coordinate CM (Change Management) tasks and tickets as required
  • Prepare and coordinate CAB presentations
  • Prepare and coordinate product communication updates.
  • Assist user departments in drafting system requirement documentation based on business processes.
  • Ensure that all processes have been investigated/considered in obtaining the specifications of the user requirements.
  • Evaluate service requests and architecture change requests.
  • Propose and review system design and evaluate alternatives.
  • Develop systems solutions in line with quality and delivery requirements.
  • Identify and evaluate new and emerging IT technologies.
  • Meet with Stakeholders, gather requirements, prioritize backlog, evaluate, and present proposed IT solutions.
  • Enable and support external provider teams to develop and operate IT solutions.
  • Support the product owner and sub-product owner with options for software decisions and product roadmap, based on knowledge of changing customer demands, technical features and conducted technical tests (proof of concepts).
