Job Description


Assist and support Operational Risk Management Team in the maintenance, implementation, change management, monitoring, support and reporting operational risk management framework, policies, and standards to promote an enabling risk culture to support the bank's risk strategies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Foster a collaborative environment that promotes knowledge sharing and continuous improvement by conducting research, development and performing environmental scanning,
  • Perform data analysis, gap analysis to compare current state against desired state and make recommendations for improvement
  • Monitor compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as external regulations by participating in risk assurance activities
  • Understand and document business processes, workflows and maintain risk profile for assigned areas
  • Support the design and implementation of new controls or enhancements to existing controls, champion digitisation solutions, participate in system testing, documenting testing and system requirement,
  • Collaborate with Risk Management colleagues process owners and other key internal and external stakeholder on operational risk matters.
  • Facilitate change management activities include developing communication and training interventions, scheduling training, maintaining training attendance records, facilitating assessments, publishing team communications, evaluate effectiveness of communications
  • advisory services and operations administration
  • Administer project management and perform special projects and
  • Performs other operations related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Assist Operational Risk Manager in keeping abreast of changes in industry trends, best practice regulatory guidance associated with Operational Risk Management.
  • Monitor and track issues, findings associated with operational risk management.
  • Assist in preparation of reports summarizing findings and present results to management
  • Maintain and update stakeholder listings, update framework document repository maintain published communications register
  • Interprets and apply procedures, ensure analysis is documented and that records are maintained.
  • Assists senior level staff and management as requested.
  • Informs employees on risk policies and guidelines to build a risk aware culture and practice across the organization.
  • Provide training and guidance to less experienced staff members
Minimum Experience Level
  • 3-5 years working experience as an Operational Risk Analyst involved in the development of a Risk Policy Framework, training, and development - Systems and Risk Methodologies, compliance & governance, reporting, stakeholder management and reporting within the Banking/Financial Services Industries
Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
Preferred Qualification
  • BCom in Risk Management, Finance, Financial Management, Accounting, Auditing, or Information Systems
