Operational Excellence Engineer - Kempton ParkFull job descriptionA reputable chemical manufacturing company based in Kempton Park has a challenging but exciting position for a suitably qualified Operational Excellence Engineer.Purpose of the jobThe Operational Excellence Engineer is a technical specialist who reports to the Technical Services Manager and has the primary responsibilities to:Focus on operating strategy and business philosophy, while controlling and monitoring operations effectiveness and profitability.Implement world class systems and manage operational excellence to ensure operation performance is met in terms of both output and efficiency through effective production, engineering, and distribution.Lead the energy management framework and ensure its alignment to group policySupport and optimize plant performance and energy balance via resources and projects.Design and implement plant changes to minimize the need for maintenance shutdowns thus maximizing plant uptime and outputDeviations on plant quality, chemistry and operational processes are investigated and technical reports prepared with proposed preventative measures.Become the technical custodian on the Chlor-Alkai manufacturing knowledge base.Provide specialized technical services, operations support, process control and effluent waste monitoring services for the organization.Assist in ensuring business compliance with legal and SHERQ requirements in terms of the manufacturing processExperiencexc2xb7 15 years in a chemical manufacturing plant environment, preferably chlor-alkali manufacturingxc2xb7 Experience on quality management and laboratory operations.xc2xb7 Experiencing in world class systems and operational excellence implementationxc2xb7 Experience in developing and using an MES system for analysis of operational data.xc2xb7 Familiar with financial budgeting and capex managementQualifications:MatricBSc, BEng Chemical EngineeringProject management / PRINCE II certification and/or experienceProfessional Engineer (PR Eng)Technical CompetenciesExtensive knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, No. 85 of 1993.Extensive knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systemExtensive knowledge of hazardous chemical manufacturing and handling codes, preferably in a Chlor Alkali plant.Knowledgeable on different types of equipment related to chemical manufacturing plants.Skilled in hazard identification, risk assessment and root cause analysisAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical data books.Past experience in working with operational excellence, energy management and world class manufacturing principlesExperience in managing and coordinating projects, and continuous improvement activities.Experience in using SharePoint and Corrective Action Systems (i.e. Digilex)Knowledge on Operations Technology (i.e. SCADA, PLC, SAP IM and MES)Experienced in relationship building and cross collaboration at a senior levelStrategic management, planning, co-ordination, and controlTechnical custodian and ability to travel locally and internationally to technical conferences.Personal Circumstances:Must be able to obtain a satisfactory medical report from the companiesxe2x80x99 medical centreOther detailsSalary: R950K basic annual salary maximum.All applicants are thanked in advance for showing interest however correspondences will only be entered into with the shortlisted candidates.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: R750 000,00 - R950 000,00 per yearEducation:Bachelors (Required)Experience:quality management and laboratory operations: 3 years (Required)chemical manufacturing preferably in a chlor-alkali: 10 years (Required)world class systems and operational excellence: 2 years (Required)developing and using an MES for analysis of operational data: 5 years (Required)financial budgeting and capex management: 3 years (Required)License/Certification:B Sc/B Eng/B Tech Chemical Engineering (Required)Professional Engineer (PR Eng) (Required)Project management/PRINCE 2 certification and/or experience (Required)Application Deadline: 2024/03/27
