Duties
Tailored Instruction:
Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the individual needs and musical interests of each student (e.g., acoustic, electric, or classical).
Technical Training:
Teach guitar techniques, including fretboard navigation, chords, scales, and fingerstyle or plectrum techniques, alongside music theory.
Creative Expression:
Encourage students to express their creativity, explore improvisation, and develop their unique musical style.
Progress Tracking:
Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to enhance their learning experience.
Performance Prep:
Prepare students for performances, examinations (ABRSM), recordings, or competitions as required.
Organization:
Maintain an organized digital environment for lessons, ensuring all tabs, sheet music, and backing tracks are readily available.
Communication:
Communicate effectively with students and their guardians regarding progress and goals.
Skills
Performance Proficiency:
High level of skill in guitar performance with a solid understanding of various genres (e.g., Rock, Jazz, Classical, Pop, or Blues).
Teaching Passion:
Previous teaching experience is advantageous but not essential; a genuine desire to help others learn is key.
Effective Communication:
Ability to clearly convey technical concepts, like rhythm and harmony, over a digital platform.
Patience & Adaptability:
Ability to accommodate different learning paces, from total beginners to advanced players.
Motivational Leadership:
Ability to inspire students and foster a positive, encouraging atmosphere.
Theoretical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of music theory and the ability to teach it through the lens of the guitar (e.g., CAGED system, scale shapes, etc.).
