OMS Champion
Role Outline
The purpose of the OMS (Operations Management System) Champion role is to support the successful implementation and long-term sustainability of the OMS framework across sites within the country.
This includes actively coaching and developing the site leadership teams--from Site Managers to First-Line Leaders--to drive operational standardization and embed behavioral and cultural change.
The OMS Champion plays a key role in ensuring alignment, consistency, and adherence to OMS practices by providing hands-on support, facilitating capability development, and guiding teams through the change journey.
Additionally, the role is responsible for tracking, measuring, and reporting on OMS achievements to ensure visibility of progress and continuous improvement across all sites.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Engage site leadership team on OMS
train and coach site champion and site leadership team on OMS principles and elements, performance cube and infrastructure
train local staff team within each site [Quality, Safety, HR]
present expected roles & responsibilities and level of support required from them in the OMS journey
present the necessary infrastructure that will enable and deliver OMS [documentation, organizational, physical and technology points of view] and ensure their understanding and commitment
evaluate site performance cube with site leadership team and OMS champion, aligning ramp-up and next steps to improve utilized capacity
coach OMS champion and site leadership team on OMS elements and principles on the job
Support site leadership team to build the infrastructure and culture of OMS
train and coach the development of OMS infrastructure with site champion, owner and site management team
support site manager on span of control analysis and adjustment plan
support site leadership team to develop Excellence School (physical infrastructure, trainers, training program and materials) and ensure standardization across sites
train and coach the development of OMS culture with site champion, owner and site management team
ensure OMS standards for new sites / new business driving the site management team to it
role modeling culture and behavior, change management expectations
review the standard training matrix and program with each site, including particularities, detailing processes that need to be covered on
ensure site management team are focused to have shop floor team following the standards
OMS Governance
develop business cases of sites that are under OMS implementation
share experiences, business cases of successful implementations, best practices and capabilities of OMS with site leaders and OMS champion
is in charge of Plan View governance for all sites of his responsibility
support OMS Champion to speed up the OMS coverage on site
gather the information for standardization control (focused on OMS culture) with sites and monitor the progress with site management team
review implementation status with each site and report to the country lead accomplishments and critical points
understand and address challenges with infrastructure, cultural and behavioral changes with OMS country lead
Qualifications/ Skills/Competencies/Experiences
The role holder must be dynamic and goal orientated; enabling site teams to work accordingly to the plan
The ability to influence without authority is required strongly / significantly in this role
The role holder must act self initiative but understand the role as an integrated team role
Experience is needed to collaborate with ops managers across all levels within a country
